Hello.
The UpTake is opening up a call for Opinion/Editorial videos. To kick this off, he brought in.... me.
You can see my first video for The Uptake here. A group has just formed on this site, where you can submit your own Op/ED pieces. More details to follow soon. In the meantime- join the group.
Then tell your friends. Tell your enemies.
Bio
Dennis Trainor, Jr is a freelance writer and performer living outside of Boston. In addition to video commentary for THE UPTAKE, he is the host & publisher of Operation Itch. His 200+ videos under the pseudonym The Hermit/ Davis Fleetwood, have been seen by over 10 million viewers. He has been called (among many other things) “one of the most prominent voices in YouTube politics.” (-You Tube News & Politics chief, Steve Grove) and his videos as “Davis Fleetwood” earned him a “Best of YouTube, 2007” nomination.
Holding the unusual distinction of being the first video blogger to be hired by a presidential campaign (he worked for Dennis Kucinich), it is also believed that “Davis Fleetwood” was the first work of fiction hired by a presidential campaign.
His other writing projects include writing copy for the PUBLIC NEWS NETWORK, the plays PLUG, I COULDA BEEN A KENNEDY, and an original T.V. Pilot, CONSENTING ADULTS. He is currently at work on two books: a novel and a book about the so called "progressive America" in Obama's first year in office tentatively entitled, NO WE CAN'T. You can read the evolving first draft of No We Can't in the form of a regular weekly column every Wednesday at Op Itch.
A classically trained actor with an M.F.A. from the American Conservatory Theatre, Dennis was the founding Artistic Director for the award winning Rude Mechanicals Theatre Company in New York City. He is currently active in the Boston Theatre scene as a stage actor.
